![]() ![]() Prior to coronavirus, teletherapy expanded access to care to individuals who were not able to get to a therapist’s office, whether that was due to scheduling difficulties or a lack of mental health care options in their community. This means that not only do we have the infrastructure available to offer confidential, HIPAA compliant virtual therapy, but also that there is already plenty of research on telehealth and its efficacy in mental health treatment. However, with the emergence of new technologies, there have been an increasing number of telehealth / video conferencing options and platforms emerging and available in the mental health field over the last decade. Traditionally, therapy is done in person. The short answer is yes! Telehealth, also known as video conferencing or online therapy, has been available long before COVID-19, and is an important alternative to in person care. With the new shelter in place restrictions, you might wonder whether psychotherapy is still an option available to you. I find that clients are initially reluctant, but once they try it, they love the convenience, and there truly is a connection even if we aren't face-to-face.During this incredibly stressful time of COVID-19, we are having to make major life adjustments. I love doing our free consultation online, so you can experience it yourself, and see how you feel. You can be in your pajamas with your pet near you and a comforting cup of tea or coffee. No travel time no getting stuck in traffic, and it's great when you're too tired or not feeling quite well enough to drive to therapy. You can have coaching from the comfort of your home while your kids are napping, or are at school, or from your office during your lunch hour (assuming you have privacy). We meet online through a platform (similar to Skype) and have live video sessions. No matter where in the world you live, if you have access to the internet (and privacy), we can work together.Īs I've worked with many Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs), I've adopted a style of coaching that has been very effective with clients. Please call or e-mail to schedule a time for us to talk. This gives you a chance to see if you feel comfortable with me, and it gives us both a chance to see if we're a good fit. HSPs have better outcomes in coaching, than non-HSPs because HSPs take things to heart, and are committed to making changes. With proper care and feeding, HSPs experience less overwhelm and fatigue. Once HSPs understand how they are wired, and what they need, they experience more ease and peace, and they can start to thrive. ![]() I'm Patricia Young, Life Coach for Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs), and I love helping HSPs to see that your perceived weaknesses are really your strengths! This may sound silly or even impossible, but the world needs HSPs!
